A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing a very special wedding. Kristen and Justin aren't your ordinary couple. They are wildly adventurous and their wedding plans came as no surprise.
The ceremony was to take place on the summit of Quandary Peak in Breckenridge, Colorado. Quandary Peak is a fourteener, and the highest summit in the Tenmile Range, with an elevation of 14,265 feet! You heard that right, 14,265 feet! So we ditched the more traditional shoe choice, heels, and laced up our hiking boots!
The hike started very early in the morning. The bride and groom even included their kids, the youngest is 3!
Loved watching the sun peek through the trees.
Some of us were still waking up.
The plan of a summit wedding, didn't go quite as planned. One person came down with altitude sickness, which prevented us from safely going up any farther, so we picked the most beautiful spot close by.
The wedding party getting ready and finding their seats.
After saying some sweet words, with just a few people and a beautiful mountain range as witness, they signed their license.
Now that's how you do a wedding!!!
After witnessing this beautiful wedding, I think I am going to open myself up to a few adventure elopements. This has been my favorite session to date. It was so full of love and so full of adventure. Just the way I like it!
